Highly Compressed World War II Combat PC Game

World War II Combat | Genre: First Person Shooter | {242MB}

World War II Combat: Iwo Jima, The single-player campaign takes you through the conquest of Iwo Jima by placing you in historical battles. Each level is introduced through the reading of a letter while real footage that looks like it came straight from the History Channel plays next to the text. As an introduction to the upcoming stage, this works fairly well. Unfortunately, the scenes of war do nothing but give you false hope about what you're in for once the level loads.

Each mission starts you with a KBAR, .45 Colt pistol, some form of rifle and either grenades or a rocket launcher. You can't change weapon sets during a level - what you're given to start is what you get, though one level did sport a flamethrower that could be picked up and used. Some of the rifles work better than others, but since you don't have anyone else in your squadron backing you up you'll find that you very often don't have the right gun for the job. Walking in with a short range machine gun and finding a gun turret constantly laying down suppressing fire is far from fun. Neither is the fact that none of the stationary heavy machine guns can be used by the player. It's difficult to aim most of the weapons accurately, especially at long distances which are the only safe way to do it. The enemies don't suffer this problem. Rather, their shots will register as hits seemingly at random - they can even shoot you with their gun aimed up in the sky or before they have made it entirely around a corner.

The enemy A.I. is atrocious, but that doesn't make the game easy. Since there isn't any possibility of regaining health once you've lost it, any damage you take is a real set back. With no way of obtaining intelligence aside from your sometimes-present scope and an intense fog that limits both the draw distance and your planning skills, you'll find that you are constantly being surprised by the next group of enemies. You'll probably kill them, but they'll get a shot in themselves, draining you slowly to the point of having to restart or die repeatedly. It's frustrating and requires you to play through the same stretches of a level over and over before you learn exactly where you should move to engage the next set of enemies or dodge incoming fire.

Highly compressed Portal PC Game

                              Portal | PC Game | Genre: Action | {583MB}

Portal is an action/puzzle video game from Valve, creators of Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike. The winner of over 40 awards, including 15 Game of the Year honors, it is one of the most original games on any platform in years and offers gamers hours of unique gameplay. Set in the mysterious Aperture Science Laboratories, Portal is designed to change the way players approach, manipulate and surmise the possibilities in a given environment; similar to how Half-Life 2’s Gravity Gun innovated new ways to leverage an object in any given situation. Players must solve physical puzzles and challenges by opening portals to maneuver objects, and themselves, through space.

Portal contains only two characters, the player-controlled Chell and GLaDOS (Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System), a computer AI that monitors, directs and misleads Chell in a kind of twisted experiment. It's not exactly a match made in heaven

Regardless, Chell must rely on information provided by GLaDOS to survive as she navigates through a series of mostly doorless rooms using the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device ("portal gun"). The portal gun creates two portal ends, one orange and the other blue. Both are simultaneously a potential entrance and exit and objects, alive or otherwise, that travel through one end will exit the other at the same speed. In addition, portals create a visual and physical connection between two different locations in 3D space. Their ends are restricted to planar surfaces, but if the portal ends are on nonparallel planes, bizarre twists in geometry and gravity can occur as the player character is immediately reoriented to be upright with respect to gravity after leaving a portal. Chell can pass through open portals at will, but barriers, known as "Material Emancipation Grids" or 'fizzlers' prevent players from carrying objects beyond them. Luckily certain objects, known as 'companion cubes' can be tossed through. Once through these can then be used as the player wishes. Passage through these fields also closes any open portals, so it's important to look before you leap. It's Chell's challenge and yours to survive the hazards of the portals, including bobby traps, hidden gun turrets and the treachery of GLaDOS in the search for eventual freedom.

Highly compressed Command & Conquer Generals PC Game

Command & Conquer | PC Game |Genre:Strategy | {178MB}

Command & Conquer Generals puts your trigger finger on the pulse of modern warfare. Choose a General in control of massive armies of bleeding-edge military weaponry across a globe teetering on the brink of Armageddon. Command either the mighty U.S. Army, the Chinese war machine or the resourceful Global Liberation Army, each packed with high-tech arsenals ready to deliver unprecedented firepower on land or in the skies. Prepare your forces, Commander... it's time to engage in the next generation of 3D real-time strategy Command & Conquer Generals.
Command & Conquer, with the impressive visuals and highly refined and accessible gameplay that have come to characterize the best entries in this genre. Die-hard fans of Command & Conquer may lament a few of the departures Generals makes from the series' roots, and the game does have a few rough edges, but Generals is still one of the best real-time strategy games around.

games, despite its much improved appearance and its seemingly more conventional array of infantry, tanks, and aircraft. Like in Red Alert 2, battles in Generals are often quick and decisive, largely due to the immense power of many of the game's units, the presence of devastating super weapons on each side, and the generally fast pace. Also, while each faction has a good variety of units at its disposal, you'll likely get the impression that the number of unit types per faction was limited so that each unit type could play an important role in most any fight--and also to leave room for an expansion pack. The lack of seafaring units in the game is a disappointing omission, given the importance of ships in most previous Command & Conquer games (not to mention in actual modern warfare), but the designers have still done an excellent job of imaginatively differentiating the game's three sides.

Command & Conquer milieu can nevertheless be found in Generals--fans will be glad to see huge, double-barreled tanks, crack-shot commandos, nuclear missile silos, flamethrower tanks, and other such C&C mainstays back and looking better than ever. Many of the twists added to Red Alert 2 remain intact as well, such as the ability to garrison infantry in civilian buildings and the ability of units to gain experience levels by defeating foes.

Highly Compressed EL- Matador PC Game

              EL- Matador | Genre: Modern Shooter | {560MB}

El Matador has something of a Hitman or Splinter Cell feel because of the gritty settings, the true-crime storyline where you're trying to take down the heirs to Pablo Escobar single-handedly, and the fact that just a few bursts of fire or a couple of well-placed grenades can send you to back to Washington in a body bag. But this isn't a tactical shooter or a sneaker. On the contrary, this is one of the fastest, most traditional shooters seen in recent years. It has a Doom-like pace (and soundtrack), a generic selection of weapons, and tons of enemies that are waiting around every corner. If you slow down, you'll get pinned down by withering fire and then killed by either the barrage of lead directed your way or the grenades that are always efficiently tossed into hiding spots

Although this sounds like a dream come true for an old-school shooter fan, excruciating difficulty ruins El Matador. Those hordes of enemies noted above never seem to miss, unerringly nailing you again and again across rooms, hallways, and fields. If you stick Corbet's neck out even the tiniest bit, you get shot in moments--even if the bad guy doing the gold-medal shooting is hunkered down a few dozen meters away behind a palm tree or a desk with nothing more than the top of his head exposed. These shots come out of nowhere and drain you so regularly that your health and armor might as well be ticking down on a clock.

A tough game is one thing, but El Matador tilts the playing field so much that it feels like you're being cheated. While there is nothing in gaming like the satisfaction of beating a really hard shooter, there is a fine line between giving you the chance to earn that feeling of accomplishment and hammering you so relentlessly that continuing to play seems futile. If Plastic Reality ever makes another shooter, let's hope that it discovers where that line is in the future.

Highly Compressed Civilization IV Game

           Civilization IV | PC Game | Genre: Strategy | {230MB}

The premise of Civilization IV, as well as the previous Civilization titles, is that you start from scratch and create an entire civilization. You begin the game with a single unit called settlers, and they can be used to establish a city. Once this city is established, you can train workers to go around build roads, farms, and more. Eventually, you’ll also need to build up a military to defend your city. Once that city grows big enough, you can create more settlers to build more cities. In the meantime, you can research simple things like ‘the wheel’ or ‘iron working’ and eventually work your way up to nuclear weapons and space exploration.

This game is presented using an overhead map of the world, and you can zoom in and out for detail. To view your cities, just double click on them. The whole game can be controlled by the mouse, and it is all turn-based, so you have plenty of time to calculate your moves. As the game goes on and your world gets bigger, each turn will take longer and longer. If you make it all the way into modern times, one turn could take a half hour or more, depending on how big the world is and how many other active civilizations are still competing for dominance.There is so much you can do in Civilization IV that it would be impossible to even briefly touch on all the possibilities. That is what makes this game so great in that you can play it over and over again, and never play the same kind of game twice. For me, being able to replay a game is a big deciding factor in how long I keep it installed on my hard drive, and this is one that will keep you occupied for a long time. Be careful, though, this game can been quite addictive once you get into it.

Even single-player and multiplayer options have been improved in Civ IV. The single-player game offers much-improved artificial intelligence that seems to cheat much less than in previous games, or not at all. In the single-player game, rival nations won't mysteriously explore the entire world in two turns, nor will they use those two turns to magically build a network of five cities where there were none before. Computer-controlled nations will also make much more reasonable bids at the table, but they can't be easily bribed with small handfuls of cash, either. The single-player difficulty seems to scale extremely well by offering a very gentle introduction for beginners at the lowest levels and a suitably tough challenge for experts at the highest levels.

Highly Compressed Art of Murder: FBI Confidential PC Game

         Art of Murder: FBI Confidential | Genre: Adventure | {215MB}

City Interactive's Art of Murder: FBI Confidential is a traditional third-person point-and-click adventure game. You play as Nicole Bonnet, a young agent in New York City trying to solve a string of violent murder cases. Her general behavior loosely mimics what we assume to be detective work, at least as it's presented in serialized television police dramas. She hunts around crime scenes for clues, brings them back to the station for testing, and then uses what she finds to go hunt for more clues or inform her boss she needs to travel somewhere. It's all very Law & Order, or CSI, or whatever.

The game makes things easy for you by stripping out non-essential inventory items when you transition between settings, so you're not left sitting there trying to combine Q-tips from early on the game with a jar cap from later on. Nicole will also chirp up when you try to leave an area before finishing everything, saying there's still something to be done, which means you're not left to wander between large numbers of locations, keeping the puzzle-solving focused on small areas.There are so many things in this game that come off as inauthentic. First off, Bonnet's FBI office consists of five people: a secretary, her boss, an investigator named Nick who somehow manages to keep his job despite never answering phone calls or showing up to work on time, and some guy who's killed right at the game's beginning, in addition to Bonnet. The game tries to explain the bare-bones office space and staffing, saying the building is under renovation, but it doesn't really come off as plausible.
