The premise of Civilization IV, as well as the previous Civilization titles, is that you start from scratch and create an entire civilization. You begin the game with a single unit called settlers, and they can be used to establish a city. Once this city is established, you can train workers to go around build roads, farms, and more. Eventually, you’ll also need to build up a military to defend your city. Once that city grows big enough, you can create more settlers to build more cities. In the meantime, you can research simple things like ‘the wheel’ or ‘iron working’ and eventually work your way up to nuclear weapons and space exploration.

This game is presented using an overhead map of the world, and you can zoom in and out for detail. To view your cities, just double click on them. The whole game can be controlled by the mouse, and it is all turn-based, so you have plenty of time to calculate your moves. As the game goes on and your world gets bigger, each turn will take longer and longer. If you make it all the way into modern times, one turn could take a half hour or more, depending on how big the world is and how many other active civilizations are still competing for dominance.There is so much you can do in Civilization IV that it would be impossible to even briefly touch on all the possibilities. That is what makes this game so great in that you can play it over and over again, and never play the same kind of game twice. For me, being able to replay a game is a big deciding factor in how long I keep it installed on my hard drive, and this is one that will keep you occupied for a long time. Be careful, though, this game can been quite addictive once you get into it.

Even single-player and multiplayer options have been improved in Civ IV. The single-player game offers much-improved artificial intelligence that seems to cheat much less than in previous games, or not at all. In the single-player game, rival nations won't mysteriously explore the entire world in two turns, nor will they use those two turns to magically build a network of five cities where there were none before. Computer-controlled nations will also make much more reasonable bids at the table, but they can't be easily bribed with small handfuls of cash, either. The single-player difficulty seems to scale extremely well by offering a very gentle introduction for beginners at the lowest levels and a suitably tough challenge for experts at the highest levels.

City Interactive's Art of Murder: FBI Confidential is a traditional third-person point-and-click adventure game. You play as Nicole Bonnet, a young agent in New York City trying to solve a string of violent murder cases. Her general behavior loosely mimics what we assume to be detective work, at least as it's presented in serialized television police dramas. She hunts around crime scenes for clues, brings them back to the station for testing, and then uses what she finds to go hunt for more clues or inform her boss she needs to travel somewhere. It's all very Law & Order, or CSI, or whatever.

The game makes things easy for you by stripping out non-essential inventory items when you transition between settings, so you're not left sitting there trying to combine Q-tips from early on the game with a jar cap from later on. Nicole will also chirp up when you try to leave an area before finishing everything, saying there's still something to be done, which means you're not left to wander between large numbers of locations, keeping the puzzle-solving focused on small areas.There are so many things in this game that come off as inauthentic. First off, Bonnet's FBI office consists of five people: a secretary, her boss, an investigator named Nick who somehow manages to keep his job despite never answering phone calls or showing up to work on time, and some guy who's killed right at the game's beginning, in addition to Bonnet. The game tries to explain the bare-bones office space and staffing, saying the building is under renovation, but it doesn't really come off as plausible.

The sound effects are also quite impressive. Weapon sounds are brutally loud and echo off the walls of the base in pretty fierce fashion. In fact, during the chaos of battle, it's pretty hard not to get lost in the din of gunfire and enemy growls. Unfortunately, the rest of the sound design doesn't measure up as well. The soundtrack consists of mostly minimalist beats and tracks that are barely even noticeable, let alone memorable, and the voice acting is pretty uneven all around. Name talents like David Duchovny, Powers Boothe, and Marilyn Manson lend their voices to the game, but none does much with his role. Boothe simply emerges over the radio from time to time to bark orders at you, Manson's jar-encased, fleshy, psychic creature is amusing, though not because of his voice work, and Duchovny sounds like he's been hitting the NyQuil as he sleepily narrates Ethan Cole's story, putting you to bed in the process. In fact, the best voice acting in Area 51 comes from the fringe characters that are voiced by people you've likely never heard of.

You are actually caught in a soap-opera plot with some sci-fi elements. Why the mining robots are out of control and why special troops are trying to put their hands on this mine, you will discover yourself if you want to end the game.

Difficult enemies

Ending the game is a matter of strong nerves and self controlling. And this is valid on the easy setting. The cause of this high difficulty is not the aggressive A.I. of the enemy, or their numbers, but the fact that you have to shoot too many times to kill one. Mixed with the difficulty of finding health supplies, the game becomes a real challenge even for the most experienced fps gamers. If you take in consideration also that in some levels you need to search for oxygen supplies, this game can become your worst nightmare. The official release statement was saying that there are 14 types of enemies in the game. But these types are actually created based on a few basic models with few variations
